Walking Dead

Being a fan of citrus infused concoctions, Alana had mentioned a particular drink to me the other day named the Corpse Reviver 2. It's from a family of cocktails dating back to the 30's that were intended as 'hair of the dog' hangover cures... hence the name. It also called for a new ingredient, not yet a part of my arsenal — Lillet.

With that, we took to the streets in our new neighborhood and wound up at the Silver Lake Liquor Shop. A fine assortment of liquids with a friendly and knowledgeable staff... we found the Lillet along with some other new gems that I'll save for another post.

Using what I had at the home bar along with the new bottle of Lillet, I ended up giving the original Corpse Reviver 2 recipe a little twist (pun intended) of my own and ended up with a drink that I've named the Walking Dead... not to be confused with the Scandavian mash up of a drink that includes about nine different liquors... no thanks.

As with any drink, the preparation and sequence in process is everything. Chill that glass, get everything out on the table. I started with the lemon knowing a slice of that guy was going to end up as a garnish in the end.
